Guinness World Records

World record for the most people stargazing at multiple venues.

The record was broken by Australia, with 7,960 participants on 21st  August 2015. This was organised by ANU across 37 locations in Australia and MAS participated in this achievement at our own event at The Oaks.

The record was smashed again on 23rd May 2018 with over 40,000 participants Australia wide, organised by ANU and ABC’s “Stargazing Live” TV programme. This time it included MAS participation at Campbelltown Rotary Observatory, Western Sydney University. However, despite awarding a certificate, Guinness have not published this achievement on their website.
